Nicola is part of the Entrepreneurial Tax team at Chiene + Tait. She heads up the EIS advice and the tax legal consultancy elements of the team’s work. She regularly advises various angel syndicates, as well as other individuals, investing in start-ups and scale-ups.

Nicola provides advice and assistance to law and accounting firms who do not have their own in-house corporate tax expertise, but are involved in M&A transactions where there is a need to review and negotiate tax deeds and warranties.

Nicola qualified in New Zealand as a barrister and solicitor. After time with the New Zealand Inland Revenue, she moved to the UK and worked as a corporate solicitor with a specialism in tax, with particular involvement in the tax aspects of exits and of private equity investment.
