Sage 50 – Changes to Support

If you currently use a Sage 50 product, be aware of some important changes to the support level available to you.

Perpetual Licenses

From the 1st April, Sage will no longer offer Perpetual licences for the Sage 50 range of software.  Instead, customers wishing to upgrade, or purchase software as new, will be moved onto a Subscription contract.

If you wish to purchase the current version of Sage 50 on a perpetual licence (one-off purchase) you will need to do so before the 31st March.  This affects the following:

  • Essentials
  • Accounts
  • Accounts Plus
  • Accounts Professional
  • SageCover Online / Extra / Premium (where clients don’t have an existing contract in place)

End of Life – Withdrawal of Support

Sage will no longer offer technical support for a number of Sage 50 products including:

  • Sage 50 v2013     – unsupported from 31st Jan 2017
  • Sage 50 v2014     – unsupported as of 31st Mar 2017
  • Sage 50 v2015     – support begins to be withdrawn from 1st March 2017

Being unsupported can cause data problems and potential compatibility issues with 3rd party software updates. Sage is currently contacting all customers with a current Perpetual licence, or those that use older versions of the software to alert them to the changes.

Anyone who wishes to purchase a newer licence to their software, please contact Stuart Adamson in our Business Support team before 31 March 2017.
