Charity Seminar Series – Fundraising Regulations

We are delighted to invite you to the third in our series of breakfast seminars for 2017, featuring expert speakers talking about hot topics in the charity sector. This event is about fundraising regulations and the Scottish body that oversees fundraising standards, the Scottish Fundraising Standards & Adjudication Panel. The Panel was recently established to oversee complaints about charity fundraising and the standards of charity fundraising in Scotland.

The seminar will be presented by Val Surgenor. Val is member of the Scottish Fundraising Standards Panel, as well as a partner at MacRoberts LLP solicitors and head of their Charities & Third Sector Practice and Chair of Aberlour Childcare Trust.

Val will cover:

  • The introduction of the new Independent Fundraising Standards and Adjudication Panel for Scotland
  • How the Fundraising Regulator will operate differently in the rest of the UK
  • Changes to data protection and their impact on fundraising activities
  • Board of trustees and Chief Executive fundraising responsibilities
