Graduates and trainees
A Chiene + Tait traineeship offers a superb way to earn while you learn: the firm will support you through funded professional qualifications including CA, ACCA, CTA and ATT. We also provide paid study leave, revision materials and in-house study groups.
What marks us out, though, is our belief that your learning goes beyond qualifications.
We give out trainees real project work with their senior colleagues, helping to build skills through exposure to demanding and important work. Thanks to our size, we also offer varied work right across a project, and provide a comprehensive experience of accounting and business. We do not restrict people to niches or limited roles.
At Chiene + Tait, you’ll work on every aspect of client work from start to finish, broadening your experience and giving you an outstanding set of skills on which you can build your career.
All of our trainee opportunities are listed on the vacancies section of our Careers page.
Chartered Accountant Trainee programme
Applications for our 2020 CA Trainee programme are currently closed.
We recruit graduate trainees into our Tax and Audit departments each summer.
- Tax: you can work towards a tax qualification and specialise in one of Corporate, Private Client or VAT.
- Audit: this three-year training contract sees you work as an auditor while qualifying as a CA (Chartered Accountant).
Vacancies for the above positions can be found on our Careers page.
What do I need?
We ask all our graduate trainees to come to us with a willingness to learn new skills and to apply themselves to a challenging, yet rewarding, role.
We don’t have boundaries when it comes to your degree. You can apply to our graduate CA trainee roles provided you have an honours degree (or expect to obtain an honours degree before starting your employment), no matter the subject or grade.
School and college leavers
We offer entry for school and college leavers to our ACCA Trainee programme in our Business Support Department. We consider anyone with a good grasp of English and Maths and a willingness to learn.
We’ve been fortunate in the past to be joined by mature students and those looking for a career change in many of our trainee roles, and we welcome applications from those in the same situation.
Summer placements, internships and work experience
We consider requests from people who are interested in a career in accountancy on a case-by-case basis. Due to a high volume of requests, we can’t guarantee a response but will do our best to help. You can apply in writing to email@example.com.
We hold regular events for our clients and issue regular communications to highlight important developments and new legislation for charities and their governance.
